ODN, or Optical Distribution Network, is an FTTH network based on PON equipment that provides an optical transmission channel between the OLT and the ONU. The ODN connects the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) located in the central office to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) or Optical Network Unit (ONU) at customer premises. 9807 (XGS-PON), and IEC 60794 cable standards, the ODN forms the physical optical path responsible. An Optical Distribution Network (ODN) is the passive fiber infrastructure connecting Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to end-users in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks.
